We are happy to announce that the new “Apollo” TopPlate is now compatible with REDs fan upgrade. This includes also the Epic Dragon and Carbon. All customers that have a pending order will already receive the new TopPlate.
The new TopPlate has the same features as the previous one. It now however does not include an integrated fan protection (grill) as it is not required for the new fans. The grill is available as a separate option and works for all regular Epic/Scarlet cameras as ALSO with the new fan. It can easily be mounted/removed.
The Apollo TopPlate can be mounted to all currently existing Epic/Scarlet models included Epic-M (optional screws are required).
The following pictures show the TopPlate with mounted fan protection (for both new and old fan) and without the fan protection.
